Tubular Buddha is an abstract public art work that activates the north area of Tangu Park. Visitors can imagine different ways of engaging with snaking tubes that are sometimes tied in knots. Some parts can be used as urban furniture and other parts as slides. A number of tubes function as periscopes and view the famous silhouette of a Buddha’s face of the nearby mountain range. The mirrored finish of Tubular Buddha exaggerates the surrounding activity through distorted reflections as well as capturing the beauty of the constantly changing natural environment adjacent to the park.
