Folded LA

Folded LA

Folded LA is a public artwork created for nine parks across Los Angeles, using the letters “L” and “A” to form a shared visual identity that connects the sites.

The Folded LA bench is a continuous surface that forms the profiles of the letters “L” and “A.” This unbroken line implies connection, community, and continuity across the sites while its dynamic form reflects the diversity of the city’s neighborhoods. Its perforated surface casts a shadow that spells “parks,” adding a subtle visual layer to the design. The angled surfaces support sitting in multiple orientations and encourage social interaction.
