Folded LA is inspired by the city of Los Angeles and uses the abbreviation of LA to tie together the 9 selected park sites in the city.

The bench is a continuous surface that includes the profiles of the letters “L” and “A.” This unbroken line of letters implies connection, community and continuity across sites. The angles of the letters provide a place to rest one’s arms or back. The seats are also designed to be oriented in different directions, allowing park goers to face different parts of the parks.
